This FANTASTIC CD features 186 large JPG pictures of a variety of rare old color fashion plates from Godeys ~ Petersons ~ Delineator ~ Designer ~ New Idea ~ La Mode . . . The earliest is the 1866 Godeys above and the latest are the 2 from the October 1907 Designer below. The illustrations from New Idea are of the New Idea Ladies' Dressmaking Patterns ~ The Delineator was a Butterick Publication and the Designer is a Showplate for the Standard Fashion Patterns.
Many of the covers of the old issues of New Idea, Delineator and Designer Ladies' Magazines of this era featured illustrations of the patterns on the beautiful art covers and the lovely model to the left above is from the Designer October 1907 issue.

There is an extensive Microsoft document included in the CD and while all of the plates are not included in the document, the majority of the Designer, New Idea and Delineators have the pattern numbers as well as the name of the patterns ie Waist (Blouse) and Skirt, Eton Jacket and so on. A few of the Godeys have desriptions of the plates and there are some marvelous accessories throughout the pictures.

While there are not many, there are a few French illustrations and as shown above. Some are newsprint a couple are actual photographs. The jpgs are 800-850 pixels wide for the wide format pictures and the standard size range from 600 to 700 pixels wide. They are a generous size and make a *FABULOUS* Slide Show if you have that option.

My CD pictures are great for printing and folks have used them for Fabric Blocks ~an issue of Paper Dolls ~ I have made Christmas Cards and more ~ One Lady used them to make cards to sell at a thrift shop ~ Another made a graph for Cross Stitch. All of these uses are great with a nod to the source. Please do not sell or give away the digital art as it is copyrighted and is the result of long hours of work, a humongous lot of money in source materials. Permission must be requested before any digital use.

I am a self taught computer user and the first issues that I made were originally for my reference as I decided to sell the regular McCall's issues from my collection from April of 1918 through 1950. I wanted to save the pattern ad art that was so spectacular in the McCall's publications through-out the 1900-50 years. My CDs are an evolving collection and this is an expansion of an early archived publication. Although I am a self-taught artisan the quality of the CDs and the valuable reference material in accessories and fabrics make for what I believe to be a great bargain!
