Vintage Dressmaking & Fashion Patterns Ephemera CDs
CD1938McCallCatalogue

This collection of JPG pictures is from my personal collection and features 140 large pictures from my December 1938 McCall's Complete Catalogue. The majority are dresses and there are a few other items as well. The cover is shown above center and it is easy to see why this particular maker is my favorite.

The skirts are still longer than the 1940s, but they are creeping upward and the bias 30s are giving way to the tailored 1940s. There are a few muli-model full pages, however the majority are one to two models per picture and they are a generous printable size. This issue has a lot of dressy evening gowns. It is a great fashion reference for accessories as well as fabrics.

My CD pictures are great for printing and folks have used them for Fabric Blocks ~an issue of Paper Dolls ~ I have made Christmas Cards and more ~ One Lady used them to make cards to sell at a thrift shop ~ Another made a graph for Cross Stitch. All of these uses are great with a nod to the source. Please do not sell or give away the
digital art as it is copyrighted and is the result of long hours of work
and a humongous lot of money in source materials.

When I originally started out on eBay (WAY back in the friendly pre-stock environment) I was enthralled with the old Priscilla Needlearts and eventually moved to the McCall's publications, because they had it all ~ Great old color fashion pattern ad art, Needle-arts publications and the regular magazine has always been a great reflection of the times (until it's demise when Rosie took over). The art depictions of the dressmaking patterns has maintained a standard of excellence that has no equal.      The Delineator Butterick publications are great through the mid-1930s,
but McCall's has been there from the 1890s through today.
